Re: Are all tipsters con artists?

Fellow punter,

Let’s get something dead straight before we start.

I hate tipping services . I hate them more than you do, and I always have.

I just can’t stand them. And if you give me a few seconds I will tell you why.

But first, let’s start with how I got here, and why I’m writing this…

A couple of weeks ago, I was checking my emails when I got a phone call from a good friend raving about this tipping service he’d been with for a week, “The Inner Circle”.

Now, my friend is actually someone whose opinion I trust, which is the only reason I visited their site in the first place. And here I am…

“But why do I hate those scamming tipsters with a burning passion…”

Well, let me explain. I am a part-time bettor, and I’ve invested an extreme amount of money on betting over the years. In short, I know what I am doing (in fact, if you browse betting websites, there is great chance you’ve already visited one of my many aritcles, but that’s another story).

In all that time, I have never been a big fan of tipping services – for me, relying on a complete stranger to take my cash in exchange for ‘expert’ tips doesn’t appeal. Anyone can claim to be good when really they perform worse than Emile Heskey for England. What tipping services can do, however, is sound great to newbies who see “subscribe to my service and make thousands”, and think “wow! you must be an expert, here are my credit card details”.

Then, the same guys who subscribed to a tipping service realize that tips from an ‘expert’ don’t make anybody any money – only after wasting their cash on bets that lost… and then, the next tipster that comes out. The cycle repeats itself…

Great for the tipsters – crappy for the poor punter who bought it.

So, you can imagine my thoughts when I listend to my friend’s call recommending the tipsters at ‘the Inner Circle’. As I say, it was only because he was normally spot-on that I even checked their site.
